Fluid Dynamics

The ancient Taoists believed in what they called the conservation of the Three Treasures to preserve the body for the attainment of longevity.

The Three Treasures are Jing (seminal essence), Shen (spirit, mind) and Qi (breath-energy). Much has been written about Qi but the other two have an equally important role.

Of the three the most readily accessible one to investigate is Jing, the seminal essence. It has long been believed in the Martial world that a fighter should remain celibate so as not to dissipate his strength before a fight. Many Martial traditions advocate celibacy as a means to increase one's power by the sublimation of sexual energy. Even the Martial Tradition of Taijiquan has this practise as part of the nei gung (internal strength) training and I have first hand experience of this.

The Ancient Taoists created esoteric sexual practises that would enable them to have sex without the exchange of bodily fluids so they could both have their cake and eat it.

It is informative to investigate what modern science has to say about this. Apparently excessive masturbation or ejaculation can cause the following medical problems

If all the above is true then it is quite reasonable to assume that doing the opposite would have beneficial effects. Fortunately this can be easily tested and I shall leave that as an exercise for the reader.
