Taijiquan Weapon Training
The fifth element consist of equipment training which includes weapons. The Tai Ji Sabre, Tai Ji Sword and Tai Ji Spear are weapons and may be regarded as just extensions of the arms. They train greater mobility, speed , accuracy and build up strength and aerobic stamina. The training for these is as above with forms, sensitivity and applications training. Weapons training also includes applications training and sensitivity practise such as sticky sabre, sticky sword and sticky spear.

There are three main traditional weapons used in Taijiquan training. Other teachers have incorporated other weapons into their syllabus such as the Taiji Ruler, the Taiji Fan and the Taiji Walking Stick.

Other training method include the use of thunderhand weights to build up stamina, short distance striking power and to develop additional movement capabailities.
Spear Form Part 1 | |

Only when you have practised all these elements over a long period may you be regarded as a representative of your Kung Fu School. Lacking any or part of any element is insufficient and will severely handicap your ability.
